Rian Brazil

Sat. 31 Oct.

Rian Brazil is a London-based alt-pop singer, songwriter, producer, and rapper whose genre-fluid approach blends dance music, alternative rap, spoken word, and emotionally charged balladry. Originally from Brighton, he emerged from the city’s underground music scene before launching his solo career under his birth name, reclaiming both his identity and the musical influences that shaped him.

Raised in a household immersed in drum & bass, happy hardcore, and club culture, Brazil developed an early fascination with music through family-run parties and close exposure to DJs, MCs, and producers. His debut EP, People Like U (2025), introduced his distinctive sound, combining dance-driven production, eclectic rap, and constantly shifting vocals inspired by his club-music roots.

His forthcoming mixtape, Engine Heartbreak, further showcases his versatility as both a vocalist and producer. Using formant-shifting techniques, Brazil transforms his voice across the project’s eight tracks, creating the impression of multiple performers while remaining the sole vocalist throughout. Blending sparse production, cinematic songwriting, spoken word, piano-led ballads, hip-hop influences, and trance-inflected textures, the mixtape reflects an intuitive creative process driven by emotion, imagination, and experimentation.

Influenced as much by film as by music, Brazil crafts vivid, scene-like lyrics that explore themes of identity, insecurity, love, memory, and self-discovery. With a rapidly growing profile and a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, he is establishing himself as one of the UK’s most compelling emerging alternative pop voices.
