Quiet Light

Quiet Light is the project of Texas-based producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Riya Mahesh. Blending electropop, ambient, folk, and electronic music, she creates dreamlike songs that balance sparse songwriting with rich emotional depth. Since her 2020 self-titled debut EP, she has built a reputation through a string of self-produced releases, including Blue Angel Sparkling Silver, Going Nowhere, and Pure Hearts, earning acclaim from critics and support slots for artists such as Erika de Casier and Nilüfer Yanya.

Raised in Dallas and now based in Austin, Mahesh studied piano, opera, and choral music before teaching herself music production. Her forthcoming mixtape, Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2, reflects on home, identity, memory, and self-acceptance, drawing from her experiences balancing medical school with her artistic life. Combining nostalgic storytelling, field recordings, and cinematic soundscapes, Quiet Light’s music transforms personal experience into intimate, emotionally resonant dream-pop, guided by intuition and a deeply individual creative vision.
